Dr. Diana Muniz-Walls
About Dr. Diana
Dr. Diana Muniz-Walls is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) who takes a holistic, solution-focused, and strengths-based approach to her clinical practice. She believes people are more than the challenges they face and that everyone has strengths they can build on. With more than 15 years of social work experience, Dr. Diana is passionate about supporting individuals from historically marginalized or underserved populations, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, those navigating major life transitions, and those whose identities or lived experiences may not always be understood or affirmed by others.
Dr. Diana earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Philander Smith University, her Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California, and her Master of Social Work and Doctorate in Social Work from Simmons University. Her multidisciplinary education informs her understanding of how relationships, culture, identity, environment, and life circumstances influence emotional well-being.
As a Hispanic, queer clinician, parent, and social worker, Dr. Diana understands that life is rarely simple or predictable. Her clinical perspective is informed by strengths-based practice, solution-focused therapy, client empowerment, and the belief that people must be understood within the context of their lives and experiences. She values culturally responsive, nonjudgmental care that honors each client's individuality, encourages self-awareness, and supports personal choice. She strives to create a space where clients can show up authentically, discuss difficult experiences, and feel respected without judgment.
Dr. Diana works collaboratively with clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, navigate change, and identify practical ways to manage life's challenges. Her approach emphasizes recognizing existing strengths, understanding relationship patterns, and developing tools that support meaningful change. She believes clients do not need to be "fixed"; they deserve to feel heard, supported, and empowered to create lives that feel authentic and meaningful to them.
